VENTRILLO VOICE CHAT SERVER

Hey All -

We bought a ventrillo voice chat server to use while we play STO. This way, no one will be spammed with ads and we dont' have to fight the game's sometimes confusing mic settings.

To Use Ventrillo:

• Download and Install Ventrillo from: http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php
  
• Open Ventrillo
  
• Click the arrow next to User Name, then click New
  
• Put in a name and click OK
  

To Connect:

• Click the arrow next to Server
  
• Click New and Enter A Name to help you identify the server
  
• In Hostname or IP box paste: V48.DARKSTARLLC.COM
  
• In the Port box paste: 3944
  
• In the password box type: 1stsof
  
• I suggest you leave everything checked (I personally uncheck "allow others to record my conversations" because that seems creepy)
  
• Click OK
  
• On the right hand side, click Connect!
  

Options

• Click Setup
  
• Push To Talk (PTT) mode is recommended - default key is the left control button. You would hold it down, wait a second for your mic to activate, talk, and then release it to turn off your mic.
  
• You can change the Hotkey to activate your mouse to anything you want in the box mid-screen.
  
• You can choose to play "open mic" which means anything said would be transmitted without needing a keybind - just uncheck the "Use Push To Talk Hotkey".

I have DLd, installed and Configured my Ventrillo settings. Look forward to *hearing* from everyone... ;P

Are we using the same username format we use here on the boards? Standardization is probably a good idea...

I used Azernal for myself since that's my account name.

OK so yes. Use the same name on Ventrillo as you do on the forums. New policy right there
